Charlottesville in the fall…

Does it get any better than this!

We all LOVE Charlottesville in the fall and the city market is one of our many reasons why.

My Saturday morning trip to the market was perfect… so many smiling people, intoxicating smells, gorgeous colors.

Check out these pumpkins… I especially love the bluish ones! I would love to get my hands on a bunch of these in varying sizes. Small blue pumpkins would look great as escort cards or placecards for a fall dinner!

And the colors of the grape and heirloom tomatoes… incredible. They are almost too pretty to eat.

See the colored stalks on the swiss chard… we have used these leafy greens in clear mason jars in lieu of florals  for “market fresh” centerpieces … adorable! Thanks to Cramer Photo for taking our centerpiece pic.

And then the apple basket of arugula… I had to take a picture..yum!

While shopping we got the inside scoop… the vendors are expecting next weekend is the LAST major weekend for produce! Don’t miss it…

Wow… what an awesome night! Talk about an “event high”…

After long hours and lots of hard work on behalf of everyone involved, Washington & Lee University’s Warner Center (aka-Gym!) was transformed for last evening’s black tie affair and fundraiser.

We had the best time working with the team from W&L… we can only imagine the amount of funding they inspired people to give!

Here are three Iphone pics snapped at the event to give you a sneak peek.

From Night to Late Night

After months of anticipation, changing out of your once in a life time wedding gown may seem out of the question. Understandable!

However, there is definitely a fun trend among brides to switch to a flirty frock to cap off the night. Check out a few of our brides who chose to go from night to late night.

Changing dresses is a smart move for a few reasons:

1)     Allows you to leave your precious gown with a family member or bridesmaid who will take proper care of the dress.

2)     Reveals your fabulous wedding shoes that have yet to receive the limelight.

3)     Lets you loosen up for last the few dance songs and helps you make a quick dash for your departure car!

We loved working with Kiki and Hunter, and loved the little design elements that were employed throughout the wedding; from invite cards, to pieces of art, those small touches leave a lasting impression.
