Tulle has come a long way since the days of ballet skirts, fluffed and flowing across the stage. Tulle skirts, tulle appliques on heels, and even tulle bows adorning bridal updo’s are all making a voluminous impact on weddings. We love the new take on tulle in bridal gowns, like those of Ashi Studio, where the gauzy fabric is structured, layered, and unexpected. Adding a touch of ivory tulle to your tablescape can also elevate a simple cloth and give it a romantic edge.

With the hot and humid Virginia weather these past few days we have been thinking about iced drinks, fresh fruit, and lemonade stands!
Outside ceremonies in the summer months call for iced beverage stations so guests can refresh and cool down while sitting outside during the ceremony.
The design behind your beverage station can make a lasting impression on wedding guests since it’s one of the first things they see. From mason jars with striped straws to crystal champagne flutes the concept behind the beverage station sets the tone for your wedding style!
Here are a few things to consider when creating a drink station:
1. Have signage letting the guests know they can serve themselves.
2. Don’t pre-pour your drinks on a hot summer day. The glasses will “sweat” and could ruin your table clothes before the guests even arrive!
3. Use glass containers rather than silver to avoid condensation on the surfaces.
2. Include cocktail napkins on the drink station table for guests to wrap around their glass
3. Leave galvanized buckets or drop tables nearby so guests can dispose of their straws and napkins as they leave the ceremony.
4. Have wait staff waiting with empty trays to catch the glasses as guests make their way the reception.
Enjoy the summer and beat the heat with a cool refreshment!

Kennedy and Greg celebrated their wedding weekend in the Northern Virginia Region of Virginia, from Warrenton to Middleburg to Washington this couple had friends in all corners! The Rehearsal Dinner was hosted by Greg’s parents in Middleburg at The Goodstone Inn, a quaint little Inn hidden in the farmland of Middleburg. Greg’s mother worked to create a wonderful printed suite incorporating a compass and the message of their couples journey ahead. One special touch was leaving letters at each place setting asking the guests to write a wedding wish for Kennedy and Greg as they embark on their life together. The celebrations continued the next day at Kennedy’s home in Warrenton!

Balloons aren’t just for kids’ birthday parties anymore! We love the sense of magic and whimsy balloons bring to engagement photoshoots and bride and groom portraits. To keep your balloons less reminiscent of a bad prom and more in line with the playful elegance of a wedding, we suggest using the new oversized versions in just one or two colors. Tie them up with some lace or ribbon and have some fun!

A boutonniere signifies the importance of an individual at a wedding! From the groom and his groomsmen to the father of the bride, these arrangements are a special way to honor the men in a wedding ceremony. Originally boutonnieres were pushed through the left lapel buttonhole. The stems were held in place with a loop at the back of the lapel. Today’s jackets often lack this necessary loop to hold the boutonniere in place; this is how the process of “pinning a boutonniere” became the norm.
Step 1: Make sure the flowers, greenery, and other pieces of the boutonniere are arranged as you want it to look on the lapel.
Step 2: Place the boutonniere so the flower is on or just below the widest part of the lapel. Pin the boutonniere on the man’s left.
Step 3: In order to hide the pin, insert the pin behind the left lapel and through the stem. We recommend using two pins to secure the boutonniere.
Step 4: Give the boutonniere a little push to check its stability.
Step 5: Look handsome!

Rebecca and Steve were married this Spring at Keswick Hall. From a playful skit put on by the Groom’s father to a procession with parasols and a trumpeter onto the dance floor this couple was youthful, energetic, and beyond kind.

The season for ripe, juicy berries is upon us and we are getting inspired by their bright hues and delicious sweetness. From raspberries atop a five-tiered wedding cake and strawberry-garnished cocktails to baskets of berries as a parting favor, these fruit concoctions will add a fresh, summery flavor to any soiree. Berries aren’t just for eating either; we love them styled in bouquets and centerpieces.

Calligraphy is seen in many elements of the wedding printed suite. From the addressing of the inner and outer envelope to escort and place cards calligraphy can be used in a plethora of areas.
