Color Me Beautiful: Evergreen

evergreen

It’s easy to be inspired by all the beautiful evergreens gracing hearths and bringing cheer to doorways. Evergreens are a classically elegant detail to incorporate into tablescapes or to attach to escort cards.  Add a sprig to a boutonniere or slip one into a napkin ring, and you’ll not only add beauty but also a pretty delightful aroma.

Charleston Wedding Planner: Candlelight

Candlelight might be the single most romantic detail of a wedding or special event.  Incorporating traditional white pillar or votive candles into your tablescape is a classic way to set the mood; however, we are more and more drawn to dramatic displays of soft, flickering light.  We’re loving hundreds (even thousands!) of candles burning atop tables and hanging from tree branches, tall pillars lighting ceremonies, and unique candle holders like mercury glass, mineral coasters, and glass terrariums.

Charleston Wedding Inspiration: Mercury Glass

mercury glass inspiration wedding

Mercury glass, that mirrored, antiqued metal, is inspiring us – atop tables, in ribboned vases hanging from trees, as candle votives, and grouped in various textures and shades.  This shimmery metal can create great drama when used in complement with other materials like wood, rose gold, or linens.  Keep your table warm and inviting by incorporating soft textures and tones.

70′s Inspired Glam

The bohemian trend has been around for a while, but right now we are more drawn to that 60′s/70′s glam – the more polished, colorful side of things.  Dramatic cat eye makeup, long sleeved gowns, hair with big volume, and oversized floppy hats are all inspired pieces to incorporate into your wedding.  Keep things fresh by adding modern details and choosing a clean color palette.

sequins

Sequins have come a long way since the days of princess costumes.  Glitter’s heftier cousin, sequins are an elegant way to incorporate a bit of girlish glitz into your wedding day.  Scattered on the floor or sewn into your gown, sequins pack a pretty punch.

Color Me Beautiful: Burgundy

A clear leader in autumn 2012 lip and nail trends, burgundy has also been making an impact in fashion, florals, and event decor.  We love this deep wine hue incorporated into tablescapes and bouquets or peeking out in a bride’s heels or in a striking lip stain.  Burgundy can come across as vampy if overdone; keep your look elegant by mixing the dark color with rosy pinks and creams or with light gray and stark white.

It’s that time of year again – as children go back to school, we can’t help but borrow a little inspiration from the classroom.  The chalkboard has been trending in decor, and we’ve rounded up some of our favorites.  The options for chalk art are endless – as a photobooth backdrop, welcome sign, menu, program, or even an invitation!

Color Me Beautiful: Statement Jewelry

Next to a stunning wedding gown, a bride’s chosen jewelry is one of our favorite details.  While diamond studs or a string of simple pearls are timeless and elegant, we do love a gorgeous statement necklace or a wrist full of bangles.  Just remember that statement jewelry is just that – a statement – and keep the rest of your look polished.

Inspired by an amazing pair of Louboutin rose gold colored heels, we bring you today’s rose gold inspired post.  We’ve seen a rise in rose gold wedding rings, and no wonder – the metal is classic with a twist, romantic, feminine, unique.  Extended to decor and attire, this pinky golden hue is elegant and updated.
