Forget Me Not Friday: Where To Find Local Vendors

There are a plethora of resources in Charlottesville that will help you select your wedding vendors! From online resources to printed magazines, our local websites and publications promote and support local vendors. Today we are going to share a few of our favorite Charlottesville resources.

1. One Sweet Wedding: A complete local resource for planning your Central Virginia wedding.  OSW is a truly local project created by Claire Goodman and her team. The site launched in late 2011 and showcases the Charlottesville vendors all on one site. From Lighting Companies to Catering groups One Sweet Wedding is a wonderful resource for finding your local vendors.

2. The Wedding Planner Magazine: The step by step guide to planning your perfect wedding. Pick up a copy of the magazine and spend time flipping through the pages to find information about local vendors.

3. Vendor Websites. One of the best things about the Charlottesville wedding community is the towns supportive nature. Many of the local vendors reserve a section on their website where they recommend local vendors. Many of the vendors will include people they have worked with and this is a good place to find vendors for your wedding! Check out Elisa B Photography, Festive Fare, Lora Elaine, and Pippin Hill Farm.

Southern Living Issue

Earlier this year Easton Events was asked to create a holiday dinner table for the December issue of Southern Living. We tuned on the Christmas tunes, called the local Christmas Tree supplier, and started thinking about our ideal holiday tablescape.

Our approach was to create a dressy but approachable atmosphere. We  featured a neutral palate of golds, silvers, and creams while emphasizing texture. Lynn stated ” I wanted the soiree to feel organic yet luxurious- sophisticated without putting on airs.” Together with Pat’s Floral Design we designed a juxtaposition of earthy elements, such as the cedar logs and bare tigerwood branches, with the lavish touches, such as the mother- of- pearl napkin rings and gold-edged china, creating a fancy affair with a cozy undertone.

In the right hand corner of the room we placed a Christmas tree wrapped in twinkly white lights and a natural toned ribbon. We kept the look minimal and organic by choosing to adorned the tree with paper cones filled with balsa wood flowers rather than chunky colorful ornaments.

Rock Paper Scissors designed place cards and menus for the dinner spread. The menu card features a silver emblem reminiscent of a pineapple, the symbol of Southern hospitality!

Color Me Beautiful: Animal Instincts

There’s just something classically luxurious about a chic animal print.  From Jackie O in the ’60′s to contemporary Louboutin, animal print is a statement staple for every woman’s closet.  Kept in good company with a simple black and metallic palette, animal prints in small doses can dress up a glamorous tablescape or provide that much-needed surprise as playful pumps peeping out from under a gown.

Easton Events spent Thursday night celebrating the launch of the newest Wedding Planner Magazine! How much fun to gather together with a collection of the area’s event designers and vendors.

In addition to Veritas’ wonderful wine and sweets by Dria at Greenock Gourmet Shop & Bakery, Eric Kelley provided a special treat for our entertainment…a photobooth and crazy and colorful costumes! Everyone posed for the camera and donned their best model faces.

Pick up a copy of the latest issue of The Wedding Planner Magazine at your favorite coffee shop to see the hard work of all the event talent here in Charlottesville!
